Whats the deal for 2011?? And WHERE have I been?

Well HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone! I am so happy and excited to start a new year full of all sorts of new things! I can't wait to get them all completed and reveal the cool new changes!! 2011 should be a great year!

I have been facing some tough hurdles medically since we had our fourth child in September, and I just had a surgery the end of December, but I am well on my way to recovering. I am very anxious to get back to working full time like I was before I had the baby. Believe it or not, I worked right up to my 9th month, I think about 2 weeks before I delivered. I actually felt great! Then, Oct-Dec. was one heck of a busy photo season, and was tougher to keep up with turnarounds because of the medical difficulties, and the new baby, and of course just having four kids in general, it isn't easy to get much of anything done. I always get it all done somehow. I'm a one woman biz here, and I work day and night to get everything accomplished. But I honestly wouldn't trade my job for anything else in the world. I LOVE it so much. It's my passion in life and I am so grateful my life allows me to do this. Okay...enough of the mushy stuff. My hormones are likely to get me tearing up again just like I did when I lay in bed all day today sick watching episodes of My Fair Wedding. Ugh! a 4 hour marathon of wedding tear jerkers is not what the doctor orders when your already not feeling well.

I wasn't able to keep up with much of my blogging resolution that I pledged to do for 2010, but I could be glad because I kept busy enough with business that I didn't have time to blog. For some reason, it just seems like such a process to post a blog especially when it involves photos and sneak peeks! I need a new blog. (Hint Hint) Maybe I'll have a better, SOOO 2000 and 11, more user friendly one this year. (Hint Hint) Cos this one is so 2000 and late. Okay that was really corny. But at 5:52 am and with kids and hubby buzzing around in a freezing, pitch black "get ready for work and school rush" yuck--->Tuesday<---yuck (wish it was Saturday) morning... I can definitely use some corny-ish humor. I still have today plus three more days to survive in super Mom mode until I get a break with hubby home to help again. Then in a little over 48 hours of the staycation, super Mom must bust back through a wall, bearing cape and baggy eyes and begin 5 more days of the same.

Well, as some of you know I am officially on my maternity leave. The new baby will be here very soon! I feel huge, probably look huge, and why do I still not feel ready? Hmm.

I will be taking last minute bookings for fall & holiday session this week and some of next week. I don't have too much left, but I am trying to squeeze in what I can without overloading my schedule.

My October dates I only have ONE studio session left @ 12:00 noon Oct. 17th. This will be for the fall set.

I have a few spots left on Sat. Oct. 23rd for Holiday, or regular family sessions in studio.

And then just a few left in November.

If your interested in getting into one of these spots to guarantee you get your annual Holiday photos taken, just email me @ tiffanyvphoto@aol.com by the end of this week, or no later than Wed. next week.

After this time, I will not be answering any business related emails until the third week in October.

Twins are Twice The Fun! { Austin Texas Children's Photographer }

I haven't seen these two sweet peas since they were babies! Wow, was I surprised when in walked two beautiful, smart, funny and energetic little girls!! They had me laughing at everything they did or said. Absolutely precious and of course, twice the fun!

Lawson's 1st Birthday! Cake Smash { Austin Texas Baby Photographer }

This was another one of my favorite shoots that I never had the chance to share. Actually ALL birthday shoots are so much fun to do. We typically start out with some fun shots, and favorite outfits, then move in to the messy fun-The CAKE SMASH!! YESSS!!
These are so much fun to witness and capture because every baby has a different reaction to the cake.

Little Lawson wasn't too happy about having cake on his hands, and he REALLLY didn't like the taste of the cake. But once he started ripping apart the cake, he became completely fascinated with the ornamental candy balls on the cake and that turned his frown upside down. So cute!

Tiny Little Cooper

Really wanted to share tiny baby Cooper with everyone. He was another recent Newbie session that I did a few weeks back. Little Cooper arrived very early and faced a few hurdles and spent some time in and out of the NICU before he could finally come home, and before I could finally shoot his session. I knew he would be tiny, but I wasn't quite prepared for the little peanut that arrived swallowed by his carseat. I think he just barely made the guidelines for fitting in his seat so he could ride home.

So Cooper is quite possibly the tiniest preemie I have worked with before, and I have done a few preemies in the past. None of them were this teensy weensy.

Despite the rough couple of weeks he faced, he was such a good baby and slept long enough for me to capture some precious moments with his family, including his big Sister & big Brother. Then quite a few of him alone too.

I recently spoke with Coopers Mommy and she says that in just a couple of weeks he has changed dramatically, and so I am guessing we captured the little guy and have the memory of how small he really was preserved forever.

Congratulations S&M! So happy you have shared your beautiful family with me the last couple of years! I have really enjoyed witnessing and documenting the growth of your family and the addition of the two boys. I hope to be around to document even more milestones of their lives.

Facebook Contest Winners {The G Family}

This last weekend I had the pleasure of spending time with the G family in the studio. The G family were the first prize winners of the Facebook Session Giveaway Contest that I was running a few months ago. Not all of my tricks and fabulous photographer charm worked with soon to be 2 year old "M". She was super aware of what was going on and wasn't quite falling for it. She outsmarted me and only gave me "the looks" when she was ready to. Of course at this age that's to be expected. She just made sure I worked extra hard. :) She's one smart cookie!

Baby Roman

I wanted to share a newbie shoot I did about a week and a half ago. Sweet baby Roman arrived about a week early, so I was so excited to get over to his house to do his shoot. His parents live way up in the hills overlooking gorgeous lake travis, so the atmosphere was just so tranquil and peaceful, it's no wonder Roman slept through his entire shoot. He was so good to me and even when I was done, he kept on snoozing. His Mommy and Daddy are the most laid back new parents EVER! I couldn't have asked for a better set of parents to work with, and such an easy going baby. I am so sad that they will be leaving Austin and moving to IL by September. Just made this session that much more special.

HOLIDAY SESSIONS ALREADY?? What you should know about booking your Holiday sessions early!

I know it seems a little weird to start thinking about Christmas and holiday sessions already, but honestly it's not too early. July is actually the perfect time to start planning ahead and quite a common time for private photographers and studios to book for these sessions. I know a lot of private photographers that book up fast and early. Many people make the common mistake of waiting until the holiday's roll around to book a session and consequently they end up missing out and having to settle with some chain studio in a crowded impersonal mall, and super cheesy photos. Ick!

Typically, I get a few bookings for holidays through out the very early parts of the year, but as we start approaching the middle of the year I get more and more bookings for fall and especially holiday sessions for the family and kiddos.

I would definitely recommend that you do not wait until any longer than July /August to book fall sessions and no later than August /September to book holiday sessions. Fall sessions only run about 2 weekends in September or October (this year will be held in October only) and we do fun fall set up's with pumpkins and all kinds of harvest time props.

Then holiday sessions begin immediately after running most weekends from the end of October with the cut off for Holiday sessions in the first weekend of December.

I do not do Holiday sessions beyond that point due to the time that I need to take to get everyone's edits done, order customized holiday cards, products, prints, CD's and books, get them out and completed in time for Christmas gift giving and card sending. It is definitely a BUSY time of the year around here.

To add to the Shutterfly Kisses Chaos this year, I am taking my maternity leave starting the first week of September and will be out until the second week of October. This means I will not be answering any Studio /business E-Mails, or booking any sessions until I return. With a new addition joining our family this September, I am not accepting as many appointments as I typically do for the Holidays, so appointments will be very limited and held on weekends only. (Sat & Sun)

I just want to elaborate a bit more on what happens during my studio holiday sessions...

Holiday sessions are tons of fun with fresh new holiday props each year for the babies and kids. Families love coming in to update the yearly family portrait and have something special to send to family for Christmas. Now is the perfect time to capture the love between your rapidly growing family. I do make and offer holiday cards specially customized for your family. It helps take the work and stress out of your annual Christmas time card writing and they make GREAT gifts for family and friends. Just leave everything up to us and we have it ready for you to send out in time for Christmas. Don't forget we also do custom holiday photo ornaments, custom books, completely framed prints, jewelry and more! A full list of holiday product and gifts to be released soon. Watch for that!

If your wondering if I do outdoor sessions or in-home sessions, the answer to this is absolutely!!

I will be doing one outdoor "Fall Days" Sessions weekend and one outdoor "Jolly Holiday" sessions weekend only. The dates for the weekend outdoor sessions will be announced within a few days from now and these are limited to three families each weekend day. Regular outdoor/on location rates will apply for the outdoor sessions.

Please let me know if you are interested in a family session in your own home. It's always wonderful and very special to be able to professionally and creatively capture your family in the comfort of your own home sitting in front of your fireplace, Christmas tree, out in front of your home etc.

So please remember that waiting until October or later to book could mean you may not be able to get a spot in for Holiday sessions due to the very limited appointments I will be taking this year.

I've had a few busy weekends this February and have thoroughly enjoyed being back to work. Thank you to everyone that has booked a session with me this month. It was so much fun! I have a few more sessions that I am hoping to blog about within the next couple of days. I wish I could blog about them all!! *SIGH* If I only had MORE time in one day.

The family that I spent time with this past Saturday was really refreshing and absolutely adorable. Young gorgeous couple and sweet faced three month old little "J". Another baby with yummy little cheeks I just wanna pinch and kiss!!

They were the first family to book an outdoor session VS studio in 2010, so I was just elated about it

since it is rare that I get to spend time getting creative with available lighting and outdoor scenery. The weather was perfect. We really lucked out on that considering we were just snowed on earlier this week. Oddly though, the park was unusually busy, and not as lush & green just yet.

Despite the busy park, baby "J" and his Mommy & Daddy were so natural, easy going and fun to work with. They gushed about how thrilled they were with baby "J" and the fact that he was in such a pleasant mood. They mentioned he had some colic issues, but I sure couldn't tell!! He had his moments like any other three month old, but overall, "J" handled it like a pro! He actually lasted longer than I anticipated, so I took advantage of the additional moments till I knew he was DONE! Which by the way, wrapped up with some awesome crying shots. :)

Oh how they change { Austin Baby Photographer }

I mentioned in my last post how much babies change, and how quickly it happens. I see it time and time again, and it amazes me everytime. However, one little guy that just stunned me when it came to changing, was baby L. HOLY COW!

I was in shock and at the same time marveling over his cute, squishably, pinchable baby cheeks. Shocked because I was remembering newborn baby L. The little guy that arrived 6 weeks ahead of schedule.

Who walked in the door? Big boy baby L. And he was sitting and ready to go! Mom warned me he changed, but wow! Total Proof below!

The blogging resolution. Keep. On. Going. { Austin Baby Photographer }

I am coming to terms with how tough it is to blog each day like I had hoped I would be able to do by now. I give major kudos to all of my friends and photogs that can keep up with it so often! HOW do you all do it? I am still trying, but each day the sun sets and I have gone another busy day without blogging. I could come up with a gazillion excuses, like my asthmatic Son who has been in and out of Dell, the busy nights of homework, the late hours my Husband works, how absolutely drained I am and then there is the sessions I am working on editing. But then I stop and think to myself...That's all GREAT stuff to be blogging about! Well, not GREAT, but it's STUFF!! Hopefully I can get through this blog breakdown. :)

Speaking of sessions, I spent the last couple of weekends with the most precious babies!
My first weekend back to work was so fun! Coincidentally it was only 6 month old babies all weekend, which just so happens to be one of my favorite ages to photograph. It really gave me the jump start back into shooting that I have been needing. Since being on vacation from Xmas break was SO long, I almost forgot how much I absolutely LOVE what I do.

Here is a couple from one of the sessions the first weekend back.

This is my second session with little E and his family. He came prepared with cute little outfits, his shining personality, and fingers ready to eat. And by the way, doesn't he have the most gorgeous baby blues?

He will be back again for his one year session, and I can't wait to see how much more he has grown.

These babies grow up so fast and is one reason I urge people not to miss out on capturing the little details, and the little personalities and expressions that will all fade and change way too soon. Don't wait till it's too late. Capturing family portraits, the interactions, the love, the kisses and how little hands are next to ours when they are babies, is so important. We forget the details of yesterday. In a blink of an eye, or the snap of a shutter, the moment is gone forever. Don't let those memories grow away!

Time & Simplicity ::Austin Texas Children's Baby Studio Photographer::

Whats up with how fast time flies now a days? Seems like I am always documenting my children's lives through photography, but when it comes to actually having time to do anything in the studio, I realize how long it has been since the last time!

The last "studio" styled photo I captured of Jonah, he looked so baby-ish! Now...he just looks more like a big kid. Where did my baby go?

I love all sorts of photography styles, believe me! But when it comes right down to it, I have to say there is just SOMETHING that I love about the polished look of studio lighting. I love capturing simple, clean, pure images! I don't add very much in processing, I don't add textures or any of that. I like clean defining lines and backdrops that don't distract. I love all of the stunning faces and I like to get in them!

I get lost in my sons eyes when I look at a photo of him locking his eyes to my lens. I will always be able to look back at this and see every tiny detail on his precious little face at 2 and a half years old. This is usually my favorite thing about photographing babies & children, And it isn't easy. You would think that I had this child trained to sit still and "strike a pose". That is NEVER the case with any child especially my son! I actually think my kids are the hardest to capture. I connect, watch and wait for just the right moment to get just what I am looking for, and I hope that is exactly what my clients look for in a special image of thier child too. They say eyes are the window to the soul, and that's exactly what I do my best to connect with and preserve...for me and for my clients.

HOW DO I BOOK & PAY?

Booking & Payment is quick and super easy to do.

Really, it's as easy as 1..2..3!

So you have visited http://www.shutterflykisses.com/ (Investment) and decided what session is right for your baby, child, and or family. Now all that's left is to decide when you would like to schedule an appointment and book. Simply follow our three simple steps and you will be well on your way to enjoying all of the ooh's and ahh's that you will get when friends and family walk in and see your family as art hanging on your walls!

Step 1. To look at what dates Miss Tiffany has open, click on the big orange bookfresh calendar link below.

Step 2. Choose the type of session you need and then choose the month & date to see if there are appointments available for the day that you prefer to book, choose a time and request the appointment. If the appointment date is indeed available, you will get a confirmation and email stating that your appointment was accepted. (It may take day or so for the appointment to be approved. If I am online and see it right away, it could be accepted sooner.)

Step 3. Once your appointment is accepted, choose your session payment button below and follow the directions on how to safely and securely make your payment. Payments can be made with any major credit or debit card, and I also accept Pay Pal. No e-checks please. Payments must be paid within 24 hours of appointment acceptance, or the appointment will be removed from the calendar to make it available for other prospective clients to choose.

All session fee's are due in full at the time that you book a session with Shutterfly Kisses. In order to guarantee the date requested, you must make your payment within 24 hours once that the appointment date and time was accepted. If no payment has been made, the appointment will be deleted from my calendar. Appointment is official once the session fee is paid and you receive receipt and confirmation.

After you receive confirmation you will receive a Studio E-Guide via email. The studio e-guide is full of helpful information that provides lots of tips on how to help you prepare for your session, FAQ, what to wear, what to expect, directions to the studio and much more!

Session fee's cover the session and studio time only. See each session to see what is included.

Full CD's are available for purchase and are sold separately.

Okay...SFK New years resolution; Post more often! So that's exactly what I will try to do. I know that my SFK Face Book fan page as well as my blog gets a little dull, well... wait... A LOT DULL, so I will try to keep it up.

I am almost ready to get back to shooting again since I have been on my wonderful winter break. Although I have loved taking a break, I also miss working. I miss all of those cute, silly, laughing little faces that change and grow so quickly. It amazes me how much they grow in a matter of one year!

2010 sessions kick off the first weekend of Feb, and while the first weekend is already booked, I do have other weekends that have some room, so hurry on in, especially if you would like something cute for spring & Easter!

If you have visited SFK at least one time in 2008 & 2009 (once for each year) you qualify for VIP session pricing and that will always stay the same as long as you visit at least once a year.

Yesterday was a really busy day for me with a multiple session day in studio and out.
It started great, came to a close FANTASTICALLY, and I honestly did not want this session to end! Had I not run out of card space, I would have been shooting till the sun went down!

This family fits my style to a TEE! She knew exactly what I was all about when I said Modern Children's Photography, and had everyone dressed for the occasion. I absolutely loved it!

I loved it even more because I got to get out and explore parts of Austin I never even knew existed. I knew it was good out there, but this spot took the cake for me. I really hope that everyone else decides they would like to break out of the studio every once in a while and try something different and fun. Yes, this session was FUN! I have been dying to do a session like this for so long. Was the first urban downtown session I have done in over a year! One of my favorite styles to shoot. I strongly urge more families to do this. The world is our backdrop, and the options are limitless!

I love how he carted around his little drum and drumsticks the whole time.

Extremely handsome little man. The last time I saw him was in 2007, I believe he was only 8. He has grown so much.

The last time I saw this incredibly adorable little boy, he was just a lil chunk-a-munk baby. He has definitely grown to be full of life and has the FUNNIEST personality I have seen for a 2 year old...like...EVER. Mom said he was so excited to come and have his pictures taken!

I love the expressions on their faces here. Like..."Ewww! Mom & Dad...yuck!!"

One Year Later :: Austin Family On Location Lifestyle Photographer

I recently revisited a family out in Lakeway that I have grown to know over the last year. They have a brood of handsome little boys that give me a run for my money, and one gorgeous little girl who you see pictured here. I figured we would do a one year anniversary shot of her in her Mommy's chair. Her Mom has had this adorably shabby and perfectly chic chair since she was a little girl herself.

I didn't quite get the lighting I wanted this time since it was raining cats and dogs outside that day, but I did capture little miss "M" exploring the rain as it poured down with no signs of calm.

I really love coming out to see this family, and I hope they will invite me back again around the same time next year to document how much everyone has grown.

First met this family back in 2007, this little heart breaker wasn't quite in the making yet, so now that he is here, I am jumping for joy, because his eyes are a photographers dream come true. His sister is the most patient little three year old I have ever met, and she put up with all of my ideas and shenanigans quite well! I'm impressed!

BEARY FUN TIMES! HA! I know, I know, I have used this wagon and my infamous bears a gazillion times before, but each baby that uses it brings something new for me, and I can't get over it. At least not yet.

Baby J Sneak Peek

It's been crazy busy around here this month and will be even more CRAZY next month, but as you know, on request I will post these sneak peeks. Here is a SP of baby "J". He came to see me last week with Mommy & Daddy. We had a great time. No puns intended, BUTT in the END we had an unBAREably goofy time. Well...unbearably, but in our case you can get away with spelling it with the BARE in there. (of course the BEAR part works great too.)

I had the pleasure of photographing Miss Staci Gray yesterday. We had lots of fun coming up with ideas for her new album coming out really soon. Staci is a wonderful and widely popular Austin based childrens singer /songwriter story teller. If you haven't seen one of her shows yet, it is a must to place on the list of activities for the kiddos. Her friendly upbeat songs get my kids up and dancing around the room. I had a long yet interesting week. I visited my ophthalmologist THREE times this week, and he says NO contacts lenses for at least a few weeks. Hmm. This means GLASSES! AGHH! OK, now glasses wouldn't be so bad if it were just for wearing around the house and what not, but for sessions?? I have never really worn glasses during a session before. Well, I had quite a few sessions this week where I had no choice but to wear my dreaded purple frames. Starting with a newborn session for some special clients of mine. The glasses are just as bad as I suspected they would be. ICK!! Hot, sweaty, and falling off my face. Totally NOT what I wanted. My glasses steamed up every time the camera was at my face. I had my husband drag out my smaller desk fan and hooked it up so I had some source of air hitting me during my sessions today. Thank goodness everybody has been so laid back and fun. I had a session with twins today. VERY FUN! I had a great time with them. My clients are great!! Now I just need to solve the mystery of learning how to keep my glasses on every time I sneeze.

Fall is here! Here is little Miss J who I absolutely ADORE to peices! She is another one of "My Babies" who I have been bonding with for a long time now. I first met J before while she was in Moms tummy, and now she is 9 months old! She never fails to give me the widest range of priceless expressions at every session! The following pictures featured here prove just that. Isn't she just too cute?

Not your average maternity session

This family is one of the coolest families a girl like me could ever ask for. The 'A' family is so laid back and fun to work with. The way we met was just as cool. I just cannot wait until baby "A" arrives. I know he is going to be just as handsome as his cutie patootie brothers! The story behind this session is one heck of a story, but I am so glad I was able to be a part of capturing this wonderful womans belly.

Here she is doing what I call "Embracing the Belly".

Here is her super sweet little boy giving baby "A" a kiss. I had to be quick. They were just short little kisses.

Mommy will need all the hands she can get very soon!

Special Baptismal Session

This beautiful little girl is a very special girl that I have been doing photos for ever since she was in her Mama's belly. She was here this month for her Baptismal pictures and she gets even more beautiful everytime I see her.

I always get some really classic looks from her everytime!

Shy Little Guy

I wanted to share a session that I had with this sweet little guy about three weeks ago. He came to get pictures to help celebrate his upcoming second birthday! Let me tell you this little one was such a sweetheart. He was so shy in the beginning and didn't know quite what to think about being in this strange photographers home studio. I was starting to think I might not get a smile from little "D". But we started with this cute shot.

Then we got into a little talk about his adorable little toes and feet.

He was definitely proud and wanted to show me those piggies!

I am really loving these apples lately. Plus they matched his shirt!

Then we got into the Chicken Dance!! That was tons of fun. "D" his Mommy, Daddy and I all did the dance and I tried to clap along with an 8 pound camera in hand. Hehe.

THEN...We finally got some sweet little smiles.

But, the best smiles of all came from the ones where he shows just how much he loves his parents. I love the genuine adoration captured. You can really see how much this family loves eachother and knows how to have a great time.

Thanks 'F' Family for a wonderful time! I had a blast!

I had such a wonderful time with clients of mine Sunday with their new arrival Jewel. She is such a sweet baby with tons of hair! I did a couple maternity sessions with them before she was here, and I had a great time with Mom & Dad then too. I made this special slide show for them to display to family and friends.

-Hi Tiffany! Hope you and your family are doing well! I wanted to thank you for the wonderful portraits of my family. Also, just wanted you to know I had voted for your lil' ones photo in the contest.

I've been pretty busy trying to get shopping done and finishing the nursery. It has been a little difficult! I've been having trouble getting around :) I'll be walking around just fine then suddenly- the baby is in an uncomfortable spot or I get so tired I can't walk! Well, I wanted to make sure to let you know we are VERY happy with our pictures! I ordered some xmas cards with them and am excited to mail them out tomorrow. Our session was the first time we've ever had a family portrait done and with my husband in his uniform soooo you helped a rare and wonderful event come to fruition! I hope we can do another session with our new lil' here. I'd love to have some pictures of our newborn!

Holiday Portraits

So it is getting so close to Christmas, and I have been super busy lately. WOW! I am so not ready for Christmas yet. But I just want to say Thanks to all of my wonderful clients. They have really helped lift my spirits. It is such a blessing for me. I just love what I do because I am graced with the opportunity to get to know so many wonderful people and families. There's nothing more rewarding than that in my opinion. I have had a blast this past two weekends with my specials running for two weeks now. I want to especially thank Heather & Chris & baby to be for being so flexible and letting me do my thing. You guys are awesome! Hope I'm invited to the birth. :) Also a huge Thank You to the C. Family! For coming back last weekend and for booking ahead of time for Holiday Portraits. I seemed to have had an instant bond with you and your family & little R. It could be that R. reminds me of my son. He is such a sweet baby. I'm so lucky to get to see him grow. And last but not least, to the AE, I really enjoyed our session last weekend. Even though S. has hypotonia, that sure didn't stop him one bit from giving us his all. He has the most beautiful eyes, and will always hold a special place in my heart. You all were such neat people. I am glad I met you, and look forward to our next session with S.
