Sessions will be held on Sunday September 5th ONLY. Appointments will be very limited. Email me to see what times I have available.

$75.00 Includes a 20 min. splash & outdoor session & includes 1 full high res CD. This includes print release.

Special is good for 1-2 children only. Must be siblings. Add $15.00 for each additional sibling. No family sessions.

Tiny Little Cooper

Really wanted to share tiny baby Cooper with everyone. He was another recent Newbie session that I did a few weeks back. Little Cooper arrived very early and faced a few hurdles and spent some time in and out of the NICU before he could finally come home, and before I could finally shoot his session. I knew he would be tiny, but I wasn't quite prepared for the little peanut that arrived swallowed by his carseat. I think he just barely made the guidelines for fitting in his seat so he could ride home.

So Cooper is quite possibly the tiniest preemie I have worked with before, and I have done a few preemies in the past. None of them were this teensy weensy.

Despite the rough couple of weeks he faced, he was such a good baby and slept long enough for me to capture some precious moments with his family, including his big Sister & big Brother. Then quite a few of him alone too.

I recently spoke with Coopers Mommy and she says that in just a couple of weeks he has changed dramatically, and so I am guessing we captured the little guy and have the memory of how small he really was preserved forever.

Congratulations S&M! So happy you have shared your beautiful family with me the last couple of years! I have really enjoyed witnessing and documenting the growth of your family and the addition of the two boys. I hope to be around to document even more milestones of their lives.

Facebook Contest Winners {The G Family}

This last weekend I had the pleasure of spending time with the G family in the studio. The G family were the first prize winners of the Facebook Session Giveaway Contest that I was running a few months ago. Not all of my tricks and fabulous photographer charm worked with soon to be 2 year old "M". She was super aware of what was going on and wasn't quite falling for it. She outsmarted me and only gave me "the looks" when she was ready to. Of course at this age that's to be expected. She just made sure I worked extra hard. :) She's one smart cookie!

Baby Roman

I wanted to share a newbie shoot I did about a week and a half ago. Sweet baby Roman arrived about a week early, so I was so excited to get over to his house to do his shoot. His parents live way up in the hills overlooking gorgeous lake travis, so the atmosphere was just so tranquil and peaceful, it's no wonder Roman slept through his entire shoot. He was so good to me and even when I was done, he kept on snoozing. His Mommy and Daddy are the most laid back new parents EVER! I couldn't have asked for a better set of parents to work with, and such an easy going baby. I am so sad that they will be leaving Austin and moving to IL by September. Just made this session that much more special.

Family Session Outdoor Dates Fall & Holiday 2010

Just a quick post to mention the two weekend dates I will have for outdoor family sessions this Fall & Holiday.

HOLIDAY SESSIONS ALREADY?? What you should know about booking your Holiday sessions early!

I know it seems a little weird to start thinking about Christmas and holiday sessions already, but honestly it's not too early. July is actually the perfect time to start planning ahead and quite a common time for private photographers and studios to book for these sessions. I know a lot of private photographers that book up fast and early. Many people make the common mistake of waiting until the holiday's roll around to book a session and consequently they end up missing out and having to settle with some chain studio in a crowded impersonal mall, and super cheesy photos. Ick!

Typically, I get a few bookings for holidays through out the very early parts of the year, but as we start approaching the middle of the year I get more and more bookings for fall and especially holiday sessions for the family and kiddos.

I would definitely recommend that you do not wait until any longer than July /August to book fall sessions and no later than August /September to book holiday sessions. Fall sessions only run about 2 weekends in September or October (this year will be held in October only) and we do fun fall set up's with pumpkins and all kinds of harvest time props.

Then holiday sessions begin immediately after running most weekends from the end of October with the cut off for Holiday sessions in the first weekend of December.

I do not do Holiday sessions beyond that point due to the time that I need to take to get everyone's edits done, order customized holiday cards, products, prints, CD's and books, get them out and completed in time for Christmas gift giving and card sending. It is definitely a BUSY time of the year around here.

To add to the Shutterfly Kisses Chaos this year, I am taking my maternity leave starting the first week of September and will be out until the second week of October. This means I will not be answering any Studio /business E-Mails, or booking any sessions until I return. With a new addition joining our family this September, I am not accepting as many appointments as I typically do for the Holidays, so appointments will be very limited and held on weekends only. (Sat & Sun)

I just want to elaborate a bit more on what happens during my studio holiday sessions...

Holiday sessions are tons of fun with fresh new holiday props each year for the babies and kids. Families love coming in to update the yearly family portrait and have something special to send to family for Christmas. Now is the perfect time to capture the love between your rapidly growing family. I do make and offer holiday cards specially customized for your family. It helps take the work and stress out of your annual Christmas time card writing and they make GREAT gifts for family and friends. Just leave everything up to us and we have it ready for you to send out in time for Christmas. Don't forget we also do custom holiday photo ornaments, custom books, completely framed prints, jewelry and more! A full list of holiday product and gifts to be released soon. Watch for that!

If your wondering if I do outdoor sessions or in-home sessions, the answer to this is absolutely!!

I will be doing one outdoor "Fall Days" Sessions weekend and one outdoor "Jolly Holiday" sessions weekend only. The dates for the weekend outdoor sessions will be announced within a few days from now and these are limited to three families each weekend day. Regular outdoor/on location rates will apply for the outdoor sessions.

Please let me know if you are interested in a family session in your own home. It's always wonderful and very special to be able to professionally and creatively capture your family in the comfort of your own home sitting in front of your fireplace, Christmas tree, out in front of your home etc.


So please remember that waiting until October or later to book could mean you may not be able to get a spot in for Holiday sessions due to the very limited appointments I will be taking this year.

We decided to venture on out to Zilker Botanical gardens for thier shoot. Wow is it getting hot out there too! Good thing the gardens have ample shade! It's always a gorgeous little Austin spot to hold a session.
